NewDays LLC and ICT Capital are working together on a new project to build a 2,000-square-foot “NextGen” Dunkin’. The restaurant will be located at 360 North Rock Road, one of the busiest and most desired areas of Wichita. ICT Capital was able to bring this concept to life with a healthy mix of ingenious thinking, insight and collaboration. Promising a futuristic approach to coffee serving, donut bagging and a socializing environment, the latest Dunkin’ is set to open in early August. This project will include a redesign to the current LoanMax building to the north of the new store. With
The Wichita area is getting two sweet new businesses this week. One is a second location of a frozen custard stand. The other is a modern new version of a well-known doughnut and coffee shop that you may now refer to simply as “Dunkin’.” The new Andy’s Frozen Custard, which will be Wichita’s second, will open on Wednesday at 9750 E. 21st St. The shop is opening in a brand -new building next to a brand-new strip center at the corner of 21st and Webb, right across the street from Greystone Steak & Seafood. It’ll have the same setup as
Wichita is about to add a Chipotle, and this one will be the first in town with a “Chipotlane.” Wichita’s sixth Chipotle is already under construction at 21st and Amidon, at the spot in New Leaf Plaza where the old Payless ShoeSource building was demolished. Chipotle regional manager Drew Sell, who will open the store, said that if construction stays on track, it should be ready by December.
Dan Day is starting construction on his fifth Wichita-area Dunkin store, and this one’s in a prominent spot just south of the southeast corner of Central and Rock Road. Day has been studying that corner for some time. He says he knew it was one of the most heavily traveled in the city, but for his purposes, he needed to know what intersection was hopping in the mornings.
At long last, Andy’s Frozen Custard franchisee Brian Cates is going to open an east-side Andy’s. “That was really kind of our strategy from the start,” Cates says of opening east before west. Instead, he opened an Andy’s at NewMarket Square at 21st and Maize Road in March 2017. An east-side property he planned didn’t work out.
From the time Michael Malone was a toddler, he was intrigued by the real estate business thanks to his father, longtime J.P. Weigand & Sons broker Doug Malone. “Dad would always take me site riding when I was a kid,” Michael Malone says of scouting sites for deals. Now, the two are doing deals together through their new ICT Capital, a property development and investment company.
